Hire a freelance annual report and presentation designer

Hiring a freelance report and presentation designer lets you take the weight off internal teams or resources, freeing you up for more immediate or day to day work.

  • You might not have the capacity in your team to take on a report that could potentially be large and unwieldy.

  • You may be unfamiliar with the process of designing a report for both print and digital, or having to create design assets for multiple sub-reports or social media animations.

  • If you need the report to be accessible or have multiple language translations, how does that impact the workflow?

I’ve got over ten years of experience working in different sectors on large and small reports for charities, corporates, oil and gas, retailers, start ups and small businesses.

Services and skills

Report designs come in all shapes and sizes. They can be shaped by legal requirements (annual report and accounts, gender pay gap reporting, climate impact reporting) or they can come in the form of short animations or films.

The problem is that most reports can end up as a dry export from Word with acres of text and no substance, and they end their life as a lonely download on a website never to be seen again.

I build reports in Adobe InDesign, giving them life by breaking them down into neat, digestible sections with plenty of colour. These reports are set up to work in both print and digital formats, with a design flexible enough to transfer to other formats like Powerpoint or Keynote if needed.

Within these reports:

  • Data becomes more readable with infographics and concise tables.

  • Case studies and white papers become friendlier and more readable.

  • The formatting is more accessible to readers with specific needs.

  • Reports can be set up for different languages.

In addition, assets created for your reports can be reused for blogs, animations or short explainers like a Story On A Page.

Process

  1. Discovery call: a chat about you, your organisation, who the audience is and when do you need it?

  2. A clear brief: putting together a solid brief that covers timelines, deliverables and costs.

  3. Initial concepts: taking your existing brand and creating examples of how it will look in the report.

  4. The main design: once concepts are signed off, the bulk of the report gets going here with staged amends along the way.

  5. Delivery: off to print, exported for screens and whatever else is needed to come out at the end of the process.
